Stripe Connect Setup

Connect your Stripe account to accept direct payments from guests. Funds go straight to your bank account.

1 Why Stripe Connect?

Hearth Host & Stay uses Stripe Connect Express so that guest payments go directly to your Stripe account. You maintain full control of your revenue — we don't hold or process payments on your behalf.

Stripe handles payment processing, fraud detection, and PCI compliance, so you can focus on running your property business.

2 How to connect

  1. Navigate to Company Settings from your dashboard
  2. Click the Connect Stripe button
  3. You'll be redirected to Stripe's onboarding flow
  4. Complete all required steps on Stripe
  5. Once done, you'll be redirected back to Hearth Host & Stay

If you don't already have a Stripe account, you can create one during the onboarding process.

3 Completing Stripe onboarding

Stripe will ask you to provide:

  • Business details — Business type, legal name, and address
  • Bank account — Where Stripe will deposit your funds
  • Identity verification — Government-issued ID to verify your identity
  • Tax information — Tax ID or Social Security Number (varies by country)

Your Stripe account is considered fully connected once charges are enabled and all details are submitted. Both conditions must be met before you can publish units.

4 Checking your connection status

Visit Company Settings to see your Stripe connection status. You'll see one of:

  • Connected — Everything is set up. You can publish units and accept payments.
  • Incomplete — You started onboarding but didn't finish. Click Connect Stripe to resume.
  • Not connected — You haven't started Stripe onboarding yet.

5 Troubleshooting

"My Stripe shows connected but I still can't publish units"

Stripe requires both charges enabled and details submitted to be true. Check your Stripe Dashboard for any pending requirements or action items.

"I got an error during Stripe onboarding"

Close the browser tab and return to Company Settings. Click Connect Stripe again — the process will resume from where you left off.

"What fees does Stripe charge?"

Stripe charges its standard processing fee (typically 2.9% + 30 cents per transaction in the US). Hearth Host & Stay does not take a commission on your bookings.
